Watch a name
Get told the moment a Minecraft name is free
Follow the names you want. We look at each of them every few minutes, work out when it will drop if its owner renames, and write to you on Discord or by e-mail when it is free.
How it works
- Sign in with your Minecraft account, through Microsoft. We never see your password.
- Add the names you want to follow, of any length from 3 to 16 characters.
- We look them up every few minutes. When the owner of one changes to another name, we tell you and give you the window it will drop in, 37 days later.
- In that window we ask Mojang with your own session, every couple of minutes, whether the name is free yet. As soon as it is, you get a message.
What we keep, and what we do with it
To ask Mojang whether a name is free we need a signed-in Minecraft account, and we use yours for the names you follow. For that we keep the sign-in Microsoft gives us (a refresh token), encrypted. With it we only ask is this name available? for your own names, twice a minute at most. We never change your name, your skin or anything else in your account.
We also keep the names you follow and where you asked to be told (your Discord ID or your e-mail). Delete my account removes all of it at once, and you can take away our access at any time from your Microsoft account, under the apps you have given access to.
